Muncie Brewfest
3pm to 7pm @
Cornerstone Center for the Arts
520 E Main, Muncie, IN 47305
Cost: $25.00 For years, Muncie has been a destination for craft beer aficionados. With four local breweries and some of the state’s best beer bars it only makes sense to take Muncie’s love of good brew to the next level. Cornerstone Center for the Arts is excited to announce a brand new fundraiser for the organization, Muncie Brewfest, on Saturday, April 22. Presented by PrimeTrust Federal Credit Union, this celebration of craft beer will exclusively feature Indiana breweries. The event will take place from 3 to 7 p.m. at Cornerstone with a special VIP entrance time of 2 p.m. Additional support for the Muncie Brewfest comes from The Fickle Peach, Monon Beverage Brokers, Muncie Liquors, Praxis Consulting, and Hops & Vine Brew Bus.
The idea for the Muncie Brewfest stems from the former event, by the same name, organized by Ty Morton in 2009 and 2010. Morton along with Jeff Robinson, Cornerstone’s Director of Community Relations, have worked to transform the previous event into the all-new Muncie Brewfest, which specifically highlights the state’s finest breweries. Additional organizational support comes from Elm Street Brewing Company, Guardian Brewing Company, New Corner Brewing Company, Wolves’ Head Brewing Company, and Twin Archer Brew Pub.
The event will feature craft brew tastings from all four Muncie breweries as well as various breweries from throughout Indiana. Featured breweries include Deer Creek Brewery, Half Moon Restaurant and Brewery, Elm Street Brewing Company, Guardian Brewing Company, New Corner Brewing Company, Round Town Brewery, Triton Brewing Company, and Wolves’ Head Brewing Company with additional breweries to be announced.
Entertainment for the event will include live music from local deejays and musicians. The Hops & Vine Brew Bus will provide rides starting at 5 p.m. continuing throughout Saturday night to all of the Muncie breweries, The Fickle Peach, and The Heorot.
Proceeds from Muncie Brewfest will support Cornerstone’s mission to provide the community with quality arts programming for all. Cornerstone’s arts program serves thousands of people each year with life-enhancing arts education. Many of Cornerstone’s youth and adult students receive some form of financial aid or discount, which is made possible through fundraisers like Muncie Brewfest.
This event is open to ages 21 and older only. VIP tickets are $40 per person and general admission tickets are $25 per person. Limited tickets are available for the event at Cornerstone Center for the Arts, The Fickle Peach, Elm Street Brewing Company, Guardian Brewing Company, New Corner Brewing Company, online, or by calling 765-289-9687.

In the collection A Nature Walk with God, artist Barbara Kuntz utilizes the act of painting to explore a journey of self-expression. Drawn to nature as a place of rejuvenation, Barbara began each painting using only the memories of places she has been as inspiration. She then allows the painting to evolve into an image of its own making. This experiential process encourages the paint colors, the paint brushes, and a little technique to create work that allows the imperfections in life to exist without an eraser. Barbara has found natural recurring subjects—trees, water, rocks, and sky—within her body of work, creating a sense of solitude and peace.

After some discussion regarding the statue’s true identity, it was returned to Muncie in September.
