Minnetrista Museum & Gardens

September 2; 9:30 a.m.–3 p.m. | All Campus  Cost: $6 per child; includes free admission for two adults with each child ticket. Additional adult tickets are $7 each. Free for members. Homeschool families are invited to a fun-filled day of educational activities across Minnetrista’s campus. Enjoy a hands-on experience using an old-fashioned cider press, explore current exhibitions, and venture along our scenic trails. Come ready to learn and play! Preregistration is encouraged.

Join us for a special occasion card making class featuring different styles of stamps and a variety of supplies. In addition to learning helpful tips and tricks for making your cards stunning, you'll also receive all the supplies you need to make five one-of-a-kind cards for your family and friends during class.

Instructor: Krista Flynn works in Ball State University's Office of Community Engagement and has taught card-making classes at the Center for several years. She brings her creative vision to the classroom, sharing her knowledge and expertise so participants can learn from her while adding their own personal touch to each card. Krista has also led the Center's holiday decorating efforts, transforming the mansion each season into a festive and inviting space for the community to enjoy.

Gather around the table for an evening centered on local farms and the people who sustain them. Guests will share a family-style meal alongside farmers and growers from our region, hearing firsthand about their work, challenges, and the traditions that shape life on the land. Through conversation, participants will gain a deeper understanding of how foods moves from field to table and the role local farms play in community wellbeing.

Looking for a creative, hands-on hobby with a modern twist? Try needlepointing! This isn't your grandmother's needlepoint. Today's version is vibrant, customizable, and full of personality. In each class, you'll design a one-of-a-kind piece by choosing your own thread colors and selecting from a variety of stitches using a helpful stitch guide. Every session features a new project, so there's always something fresh and inspiring to create. Whether you're just starting out or have years of stitching under your belt, this class welcomes all skill levels---beginner, intermediate, or advanced.

Instructor: Linda Burkhardt has been teaching beginning needlepoint at the E.B. and Bertha C. Ball Center since 2017, sharing both her artistic talent and her generous spirit with the community. She is the owner of Elegant Needleworks, a business founded in 1994 with her sister to inspire creativity and expand appreciation for needlepoint in Muncie. Linda's work has helped transform the Center during the holidays, showcasing beautiful hand-stitched decorations created by local artisans.
