Join pysanky artist Carol Powers to learn the centuries-old art of Ukrainian wax-resist egg dyeing. Carol is part of a five-generation lineage of pysanky makers, having learned from her aunt, who learned from her grandmother—who brought the tradition with her when she immigrated from Ukraine. In this hands-on workshop, Carol will demonstrate traditional techniques and guide participants step-by-step as they create their own pysanky egg. While often associated with Easter, pysanky carry deep cultural significance as gifts symbolizing friendship, love, and protection.

All tools and supplies will be provided. Preregistration is required; limited walk-in tickets may be available—please call ahead.

Whether you're new to yoga or an experienced practitioner, this class provides the perfect opportunity to connect with your body, mind, and spirit in a supportive, welcoming environment.

Discover the art of traditional bookbinding in this hands-on workshop! Students will learn how to create a classic Coptic-bound book by sewing together folded booklets (called signatures) to form a beautiful exposed spine that allows pages to lay perfectly flat. Participants will choose from an array of decorative and handcrafted papers to personalize their project, making each book truly one of a kind. This historic binding technique is ideal for sketchbooks, journals, or creative projects that benefit from smooth page movement. All tools and supplies will be provided.

Join local historian Karen Vincent for an engaging look at the life and career of Muncie native Emily Kimbrough. Many know she authored several books, including How Dear to My Heart about her early years here. Less widely known is the remarkable scope of her career—she was a magazine editor, hosted her own radio program, wrote magazine articles and television scripts, traveled internationally, and crisscrossed the country as a lecturer. Guests will gain a deeper understanding of her life and influence beyond Muncie—drawing from a large collection of manuscripts, correspondence, photographs, and personal papers donated to the Delaware County Historical Society—while enjoying delicious appetizers.

Gather around the table for an evening of shared food and conversation centered on community nourishment. Guests will enjoy a family-style meal alongside local educators, pantry coordinators, volunteers, and faith leaders who support neighbors experiencing food insecurity in East Central Indiana. Throughout the meal, participants will share perspectives from their work and experiences, creating space to listen, ask questions, and learn from one another in a relaxed garden setting. Honor the legacy of East Central Indiana service members this Memorial Day weekend with a behind-the-scenes tour of the Minnetrista Heritage Collection. Guided by the Collections team, guests will step beyond the public galleries into secure storage areas where military uniforms, letters, field equipment, photographs, and personal effects are carefully preserved. Each artifact carries a story—offering a rare opportunity to reflect on the lives and sacrifices of those who served. This tour may include standing, stairs, and exposure to loud HVAC noise.
