I work mainly in pencils and ink, and show my art in various judies shows throughout the state. I have been concentrating on extinct bird species done in pencil, at or about life-sized.

Tiny Shiners is my personal creation. I've worked for four years to build the brand. I have years of creative experience that I have molded into this small company. Everything created by me is original and made with the intention of being passed down from family member to family member.

Jill Palumbo is a multimedia artist from Muncie, Indiana. Jill works with paint, clay and glass along with recycled items to make jewelry, furniture, and artwork. Her creations reflect her belief in kindness toward people and the enjoyment of nature.

Join the Muncie Arts and Culture Council (munciearts.org) and the PlySpace Residency Program (plyspace.org) for a Projection Scavenger Hunt in Downtown Muncie on First Thursday, September 3rd. In preparation for That One Film Festival, on September 11th and 12th, PlySpace hosted filmmaker Karissa Hahn, the first virtual resident and That One Film Festival juror, for a workshop on film printing on a home-office printer. The work created during this two part workshop will be projected at multiple exterior locations in Downtown Muncie between 8:00 PM and 10:00 PM on First Thursday, September 3rd. Viewers can follow the online scavenger hunt map (at www.plyspace.org/projectionhunt) to try to find all of the films! The scavenger hunt is self guided walking tour. YART is a Yard Sale for Art held on the First Thursday of every May and October! All Art under $40! All Artists handle their sales with you directly!

The pandemic has challenged everyone on Earth, and most recently, my related challenge has been as long-time Director of YART, Muncie’s Yard Sale for Art, coming up - and going fully online - on Thursday, October 1st. The Fall 2020 Muncie YART will happen! All the talented YART Artists will have their work for sale in a special Facebook group I’ve created. We are keeping that yard sale vibe going by all Art being priced under $40 and all Artists handling their own sales. The last Fall YART showcased over 150 Artists! YART is my giant twice-a-year volunteer gift to Muncie. I never charge any Artist to participate; and I have no staff and no budget. “The ART of #MeToo”: The movement heard around the world. We’ve all heard of women coming forward with their stories of mistreatment from men. Molestation is maturity in a moment a sort of soul murder. This problem, forbidden from conversation for so many years, stems from a variety of underlying factors at play. One in five women will be raped in her lifetime. Rape culture is prevalent in all communities worldwide. Women in power in the USA and Europe had the opportunity to spread their stories and combat the stigma of a woman standing up for herself. Just a century ago, the #MeToo movement would not have been possible.Local artist Debra Gindhart’s First Thursday exhibit “The ART of #MeToo” combines assemblage art and poetry. 

Gindhart also created a new line of Green Glam Studio jewelry earrings, Royal Pussies. Hand knitted loop scarves are also featured. Meet the artist during First Thursday’s gallery walk. Second floor galleries, 5-8pm

This CAP elective explored the generative act of architecture through the lens of craft. Investigations took positions on technique, authorship, as well as translations between drawing and imaging, technology and craft, aesthetics and information- not necessarily in opposition but in dialogue.  Exhibit also includes new work from English 421 History of the Book (Instructors: Rai Peterson, Book Arts Collaborative with Kim Miller, Tribune Showprint) as well as students’ continued explorations. Madjax North Entry Hall, 5-8pm

Join PlySpace and BSU School of Art, for a final projection performance of the Our Patterns Muncie project.

This multi-channel installation in the courtyard of Ball State University’s Art and Journalism building represents an emotional physical culmination for the Our Patterns - Muncie project: a three-week collaboration between initiating artist and PlySpace Fellow Natan Diacon-Furtado and over 100 students and 5 faculty members of the school of art’s 2D Design Fundamentals program.

Throughout the project, students responded to project prompts provided by Diacon-Furtado and facilitated by the BSU faculty. Each prompt was posted on Instagram at @Ourpatterns_Muncie, and is still available for the public to follow along with the project. In order to give the students and public a way to watch the iterative creative project unfold, the students were instructed to post their working and final designs on Instagram, creating a collaborative digital "quilt" with blocks of pattern.

The project continues to live on indefinitely as a digital community quilt displayed through Instagram (@Ourpatterns_muncie), and as a testament to the power of forming intentional communities through creativity.

On Thursday the 12th of November, we will present the final installment, a multi-channel installation that will feature the large-scale projections of student-designed patterns in a random sequence, injecting chance and randomness into the quilt as a way of making new links and discoveries in this collaboratively built visual language.

This event will be held outdoors in the BSU School of Art Sculpture Courtyard. You can access the courtyard from the parking lot between the Art and Journalism Building and the Teachers College. The projections will be visible from 6:30 - 8 PM. Masks are required. This event is free and open to the public.
