On Valentine's Day, Joel and Becca Braun, bass player and mezzo-soprano, with pianist Galit Gertsenzon-Fromm, will perform love songs inspired by Impressions of Love: J. Ottis and Winifred Brady Adams, a Ball State University Centennial Exhibition in DOMA's Sculpture Court.
A welcome reception sponsored in part by the Ball State University School of Music will begin at 5:00 p.m., and the concert will begin at 6:00 p.m. A special opportunity to view the exhibition will follow the concert.

Art in Bloom is an annual event and exhibition celebrating the David Owsley Museum of Art (DOMA) through innovative interpretations created by the region’s top floral designers. The Friday opening reception is a fundraiser supporting the museum’s programs and acquisitions, and the free, public exhibition is displayed throughout the weekend.
Art in Bloom 2019 begins with a fundraiser event at 5 p.m. May 18; tickets are $50 per person and include cocktails, hors d'oeuvres, entertainment, and the first look at the designers' artistic interpretations. The floral arrangements will remain on view for the public May 18 and 19 during normal open hours with free admission. Join us for a panel discussion at the David Owsley Museum of Art featuring David and Sarojini Johnson in conversation with friends from the world of printmaking. This event is related to the special exhibition A Wild Story: The David and Sarojini Johnson Print Collection, on view now through May 21. The panelists - including Teddy Lepley, Colleen McKenna, and Nathaniel Russell - will share perspectives on their own practice, printmaking, and the exhibition.
The museum will be open to the public for a 5:00 p.m. reception for visitors who wish to view the related exhibition prior to the 6:00 p.m. panel discussion. This event is free and open to the public, with no registration required.

Indianapolis Baroque Orchestra

Cost: $10 general public (free for Ball State students) The Indianapolis Baroque Orchestra will perform “Music at the House of the Medici” in Sursa Hall at 7:30 pm. The performance is in conjunction with the spring special exhibition Beyond the Medici celebrating Italian Baroque art at the David Owsley Museum of Art. IBO's mission is to perform and promote music of the 17th and 18th centuries using period instruments and historically informed performance practices. “Music at the House of the Medici” will celebrate the sounds of Florence, Italy, in the 17th and early 18th centuries.
DOMA (2021 W. Riverside Ave) will remain open from 5-7 p.m. on March 28 so visitors can enjoy a free public reception and view the exhibition prior to the 7:30 p.m. performance at Sursa Hall (1809 W. Riverside Avenue). Ticket holders are also invited to a pre-concert chat by Dr. Murray Steib, professor of music history at Ball State, at 6:45 p.m. in Sursa Hall. Beyond the Medici and “Music at the House of the Medici” are made possible by Ball State’s Arts Alive Series, presented by the University’s College of Fine Arts.

Ages: 16+ Discover your inner Mother Nature and learn how to create a lovely and realistic crepe paper poppy to take home! Learn techniques from local artist Jeanne Zeigler with all supplies provided. The two workshops - part of Art in Bloom weekend - are free of charge but space is limited and registration is required.
