The mechanical bull is back, the go-go cage, dance party tent, FM Music outdoor stage, Bessie the beer giving cow, belly dancers, drag show, lingerie show, sizzling hot male revue, and tons of live entertainment indoors and out to keep you in the party mood throughout the evening!
Get started on your costume NOW! Costumed revelers can compete two ways this year: first for the best Mardi Gras costume, mask or headpiece and a second contest for the most eco-friendly costume! This one will be judged on most stylish use for recycled materials. $100 first prize and fabulous goodies!

Celebrate the arts in Downtown Muncie from 5pm to 9pm on first Thursday in October! Muncie Symphony Orchestra is taking stage at Canan Commons for a free outdoor concert at 5:30pm, Douglas Droste, conductor.
Bring the whole family, share a picnic, dance on the lawn, gaze at the clouds (no rain please!); sip a refreshing, favorite beverage. It’s all about celebrating the arts and enjoying last warm days in the fall, before moving indoors for the winter.

The party will take place in the streets of downtown Muncie on Saturday, March 28th, from 7 p.m. to 2 a.m. Locals, visitors and students ages 21 and older are welcome to join in the New Orleans-style festivities
Event Director Cheryl Crowder said, “It’s our version of Bourbon on Walnut Street! This year should be bigger and better than ever. We’re building an event that continues to gain exposure throughout the Midwest.” Last year’s event drew upwards of 8,000 attendees from throughout the region.
This year’s entertainment offerings include the ever popular mechanical bull, bumper cars, stunt jump, human orbs, go-go cage, The Extreme Midget Wrestling Federation, Blue Moon Sideshow Circus, Cirilla’s dance party and game tent, Be Here Now’s live music stage, The Acoustic Room live music stage, BSU marching Band, Carenza’s Caravan of belly dancers, fire spinners and aerial acts, After Dark’s drag show and sizzling hot male revue, and tons of live entertainment indoors and out to keep you in the party mood! 10 outdoor bars will keep the libations flowing throughout the night. Budweiser will sponsor a 20 minute firework show at midnight that both attendees and the Muncie community are invited to enjoy, in celebration of Muncie’s 150th Sesquicentennial.
The event is open to those 21 years and over. Tickets are $15 in advance and $20 at the gate. Tickets go on sale March 2nd. For those who would like to purchase tickets online, you may do so at http://munciegras.brownpapertickets.com on March 2nd. The MITS trolley and buses will provide a safe ride home, from 7 p.m. to 3 a.m. with routes to the Ball State campus and Lyndenbrook area hotels.

Muncie Parks and Recreation hosts their third annual Art in the Park & Neighborhood Rummage in Heekin Park on Saturday, July 13th. This event features a wide variety of vendors and plenty of fun including a stage with live music, staple summer-time food, a community rummage sale, and plenty of arts demonstrations and activities for the entire family!
Muncie Arts and Culture Council is honored to count this Heekin Park festival as a "10 for 10 MACCtivity", a series of events highlighted to recognize MACC's 10th anniversary of celebrating and supporting arts & culture in Muncie!
The Muncie Parks Department is offering Free Booth Space to any and all arts or rummage sale vendors interested in participating. Tables will be provided and set-up begins at 8:00 am. Advance notice of your plans to participate is appreciated and helps the team plan for a successful event for everyone. Old West End Neighborhood Association will collaborate with Muncie Friends Church to offer a free, family-oriented arts festival from 10 to 3 on the church grounds and Cherry Street on Saturday, Aug. 24. There will be a city-wide art exhibit, a chalk-walk art competition, "It Takes a Child to Build a Village" cardboard box construction project for kids, community mural creation, a presentation on artist Bob Ross by Jim Needham, painting classes with Denise King and Sheila Piazza, music by "Married Folk," and other presentations and performances TBA. Quaker Women will serve lunch in the dining room in the basement of the meeting house. We are hoping for a community drum circle, too.
