It is DWNTWN Muncie’s biggest party of the year! DWNTWN is gearing up for its 13th annual Muncie Gras celebration. The party will take place in the streets of downtown Muncie on Saturday, March 28th, from 7 p.m. to 2 a.m. Locals, visitors and students ages 21 and older are welcome to join in the New Orleans-style festivities

Event Director Cheryl Crowder said, “It’s our version of Bourbon on Walnut Street!  This year should be bigger and better than ever. We’re building an event that continues to gain exposure throughout the Midwest.” Last year’s event drew upwards of 8,000 attendees from throughout the region.

This year’s entertainment offerings include the ever popular mechanical bull, bumper cars, stunt jump, human orbs, go-go cage, The Extreme Midget Wrestling Federation, Blue Moon Sideshow Circus, Cirilla’s dance party and game tent, Be Here Now’s live music stage, The Acoustic Room live music stage, BSU marching Band, Carenza’s Caravan of belly dancers, fire spinners and aerial acts, After Dark’s drag show and sizzling hot male revue, and tons of live entertainment indoors and out to keep you in the party mood! 10 outdoor bars will keep the libations flowing throughout the night.  Budweiser will sponsor a 20 minute firework show at midnight that both attendees and the Muncie community are invited to enjoy, in celebration of Muncie’s 150th Sesquicentennial.

The event is open to those 21 years and over. Tickets are $15 in advance and $20 at the gate. Tickets go on sale March 2nd.  For those who would like to purchase tickets online, you may do so at http://munciegras.brownpapertickets.com on March 2nd.  The MITS trolley and buses will provide a safe ride home, from 7 p.m. to 3 a.m. with routes to the Ball State campus and Lyndenbrook area hotels.
