“A Christmas Carol” Radio Drama

IPR will present the adaptation of Charles Dickens’  “A Christmas Carol” on Dec. 18 in Sursa Performance Hall, on the campus of Ball State.

“A Christmas Carol” tells the story of the penny-pinching, bah-humbug Scrooge who is visited by the ghosts of Christmas Past, Present and Future.

IPR Radio Dramas feature community actors, authentic sound effects (produced by a foley artist on stage) and a live orchestra.

Directed by Dr. Jennifer Blackmer, director of immersive learning and associate professor of theatre at Ball State.

The Core Ensemble presents "Ain't I a Woman!", a musical and theatrical celebration of four renowned African-American women: Zora Neale Hurston, Clementine Hunter, Sojourner Truth, and Fannie Lou Hamer. Free and open to the public. Co-presented by the School of Music and Multicultural Center.

Ball State's top two band ensembles present a series of concerts each year featuring a wide range of band repertoire. Thomas Caneva and Caroline Hand conduct the ensembles.

One of Mozart’s operatic masterpieces, Le nozze di Figaro (The Marriage of Figaro) was written at the height of the composer's genius. Join conductor Douglas Droste and director Jon Truitt as the Ball State Opera Theatre presents this timeless operatic classic! Le nozze di Figaro will be sung in Italian and titles will be projected throughout.

Now in its 13th season, the Arts Alive Concert Series presents world-renowned and award-winning musical ensembles and artists. Chanticleer is known around the world as “an orchestra of voices” for the seamless blend of its twelve male voices ranging from soprano to bass and its original interpretations of vocal literature, from Renaissance to jazz and popular genres, as well as contemporary composition

The Ball State Jazz Lab Ensemble has been selected by competitive audition to perform at this summer's Montreux Jazz Festival. Come hear this "Preview of Montreux" along with the other Ball State Jazz Ensembles on their final concert of the year!

The choral ensembles perform several concerts each semester, offering repertoire from around the world and across the centuries. Each concert features two or more student ensembles and a broad palette of vibrant music.
