On the second Wednesday of every month, The Artist Within and the Full Circle Arts Co-op host a roundtable meeting for Muncie's arts community from 7pm to 8pm. All are invited to join and discuss community projects and the promotion and development of the local arts.

The meeting will be immediately followed by Full Circle's monthly public board meeting.

The Muncie Symphony Orchestra and Cornerstone Center for the Arts present Jennie DeVoe in a live benefit concert! Jennie’s heartfelt lyrics and enchanted voice paired with MSO’s finest musicians make it a spectacular event that is worth a trip from near and far to witness greatness. Concert will be preceded by the reception at 6:45pm.

Concert proceeds benefit Muncie Symphony Orchestra and Cornerstone Center for the Arts.

Muncie Economic Empowerment would like to introduce a new paradigm in poverty reduction and local wealth building to Muncie, IN. We will reduce generational poverty by creating cooperative business ventures that will be owned and run democratically by the workers, and savings and investment initiatives to assist in anchoring that wealth locally. We would also like to build collaborative programs with like-minded organizations and community members to further build dialogue regarding poverty and to help the public become more aware of the benefits of cooperative businesses. This event aims to display craft, the manipulation of aesthetic where function and form meet.

It will take place Friday, April 5 as a part of First Fridays in the Village from 6-9 pm utilizing both the inside and outside of The Cup.

After the exhibition, there will be a fashion show from 9-9:30 at Be Here Now followed by three bands and a DJ set to close the night!

Kathie Onieal, along with the help of several other community members and an Honors class at Ball State, will be hosting a “Reality Store.” This event will give participants an opportunity to understand how the world works in regards to money, planning, choices, and priorities by moving them through a series of booths.

Eleven booths representing such things as entertainment, child care, and medical will be set up in two separate “Reality Stores,” one for children and the other for adults. Those participating in the event will first pick a job and then be assigned their salary. Throughout the experience, they will try to budget their lives based on these careers and salaries. This includes real-life concerns such as considering insurance, buying a home, and paying for other essential expenses. Our career fair will allow for children to learn how best to budget their money so that they can understand the importance of values and money management at a young age. It will also help adults considering a change in their lives a lesson in just what it takes to make it through those monthly expenses.
