    It’s Spring Break Time!

    Fun all week! Tuesday, March 26th – Saturday, March 30th

     

    MUNCIE, Ind. – Staying in Muncie for spring break? The MCM is offering several activities and workshops the week of Delaware County’s spring break. Create bird and bat houses while you interact with live reptiles, birds, and insects. Learn about their habitat and what to do if you see an animal in the wild. It’s fun for the whole family!

     

    Activities and workshops begin Tuesday, March 26th and ends Friday, March 30th. Activities are included with admission. Workshops are $7 or 2 for $10 members; $12 or 2 for $20 non-members plus admission. Registration is required. Parents must accompany children at all times.

    Tuesday, March 26th (11 a.m. - 1 p.m.)

    Join T.A.G Art and show us your acting skills as we observe and examine several different animals!

     

    Toad House Workshop - $7 mem/ $12 non (1:30 p.m. - 3 p.m.)

    Meet MCM’s tree frogs and build a toad house to take home. Learn what toads need to survive and how you can make a toad habitat in your backyard

    Create and enjoy different animal snacks with MCM’s famous Rat Snake, Lucy.

    Create a bird bath to hang in your tree or set in your garden.  Each family will receive a bird house kit.

    Join Dr. Insecta in building this one of a kind “ECO Bug House” from recycled materials.  Learn proper care, feeding and habitat construction for maintaining healthy, happy insects.

    MUNCIE, Ind. – Come to Muncie Children’s Museum for half-priced admission and learn what it takes to make the world a better place! From composting to planting trees, we will explore it all!

     

    Help the museum make a worm farm and learn about vermicomposting from East Central Indiana Solid Waste District, practice planting trees, take the protect a plant pledge and create your own recycled art sculpture.

     

    Visit with the Muncie Sanitary District’s, Mr. Blue, from 2 p.m. - 4 p.m. and learn what you can recycle in our recycling challenge!

    Children’s Health Fair!

    Free Saturday! April 20th, 10 a.m. – 2 p.m.

     

    MUNCIE, Ind. – Is your child good to go, from head to toe?! Come to the Children’s Health Fair at the Muncie Children’s Museum on Saturday, April 20th from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. to find out!

     

    This year, the Children’s Health Fair will focus on six components of health for kids: checkups, play, safety, learning, friends and helping hands. There will many agencies to help parents and children learn what it truly means to be healthy. Some of the organizations at the event last year were the YMCA, Cardinal Greenways, Head Start and Open Door…just to name a few!

     

    The Children’s Health Fair will be held on a Free Saturday so everyone can come out and have a good time. There will be giveaways, games and door prizes, including one boy’s and one girl’s bicycle. Mark your calendars today so you don’t miss this exciting an informative event!
