The Muncie Symphony Orchestra to perform at the Muncie Children's Museum, February 18 at 2pm!
The Muncie Symphony Orchestra will perform a kid-friendly concert featuring an outstanding display of percussion on Saturday, February 18. The Muncie Children's Museum is located at 515 South High Street in Muncie.
The free concert will include a variety of musical pieces from the "Roaring 20s," directed by Dr. Erwin Mueller, professor of percussion at Ball State University.
The concert will showcase the areas most accomplished marimba ensembles, with special performances by xylophone and vibraphone. The highlighted pieces from the concert will include, "Xylophone Rag," "Carnival of the Animals," "Mayan Dances," as well as an exceptional performance of one of the most well known percussion pieces, "Chopsticks."
The event is part of a "Jungle Fun Comes to MCM," sponsored by the Indiana Arts Commission. The program is a partnership with the Muncie Children's Museum, Muncie Civic Theater, and Muncie Symphony Orchestra. There is no cost to attend the event, or the museum on February 18.
