The two area Indiana Art Commission awardees, writer Elizabeth M. Dalton and musician Keith Kothman, present selected works. Dalton will read from her collection 'Burying Molly,' works of creative nonfiction on sisterhood past, present and future. Kothman will present 'The Coast of Nowhere' as a live digital audio performance based on field recordings and spoken text, depicting the writing of author Michael Delp and the environment around Green Lake in Interlochen, Michigan.

Cornerstone Center for the Arts, Muncie Civic Theatre and Indiana Public Radi...o are partnering to help you travel back in time with a youth workshop production of the classic tale of Jack and the Beanstalk. Experience live sound effects, staged readers, radio announcers and exciting 1930’s radio drama right on the Civic stage! Whether it provides a nostalgic trip down memory lane or a brand new discovery, this live production is sure to be an exciting blast from the past for all ages.

Muncie Symphony Orchestra Partnering with Second Harvest Food Bank –  Pack a Bass with Food! Bring a bag of food and receive a family four pack for a Classical Concert of your choice!

Entertainment begins at 6:30 p.m. with Circus Arts, Minnetrista Theatre Preserves, Ancient Arts, and Magic City Music Men. Symphony will begin at 7:30.

The Cornerstone Center for the Arts Dance Company is holding open auditions for the Competition and Performance groups on Thursday, August 26th.

If you enjoy dancing and would like to get more involved in either the competitive or performance side of dance, consider joining the Cornerstone Dance Company. There will be a Competition group and a Performance group with ages ranging from 5-21 years old.

The auditions are free and op...en to the public.

Competition Group:
Dancers in the competition group will compete in various competitions and perform at local events. This group will focus on technique development and competitive dance routines. Competition and costume fees will be included in the monthly class fees. The competition group will be divided into two groups based on age and will meet from September through May.

Early Company (Ages 5-8)
Tap, Jazz, Hip Hop, & Ballet Training
9 monthly payments of $95
Fee includes tuition, all costumes, and all competition fees for two dances at three competitions in the Indianapolis regional competitions during the months of March through May.

Youth Company (Ages 9-18)
Tap, Jazz, Hip Hop, Ballet, Contemporary, Floor Barre, & Progressions Training
9 monthly payments of $180
Fee includes tuition, all three costumes, and all competition fees for three dances at three competitions in the Indianapolis regional competitions.

Performance Group:
The performance group will perform for various community events including festivals, fairs, and more. This group will focus on technique development and performance choreography without a competitive focus. All fees are included in the monthly class fee so no additional fees will be added throughout the year unless a student chooses to participate in a private session such as a solo, duet, or trio. The Performance Group is also separated into two groups.

Early Company (Ages 5-8)

Jessie Sieb, Jennifer Hall, Karla Hughes, and Ashley Vorndan, Ball State University Fine Art students, will have their artwork on display in the Cornerstone Art Gallery from September 2nd to September 30th. The show is titled 17&4 and will feature individual photography series from each artist.

Certain photography pieces will be for sale.

The art show will have a gallery opening on Thursday, September 2nd from 6-8pm. The gallery... is free and open to the public and will remain open from September 2nd to September 30th during normal business hours. The art gallery will be located on the second floor of Cornerstone Center for the Arts.

The gallery will continue to exhibit and promote the artwork of Cornerstone students and instructors, local high school and college students, as well as local and regional artists.
