    Alyssa Carey is a glass major at Ball State and will show work focusing on glass, design, and jewelry making. She uses mixed media in her art such as glass, metals, textiles, and recycled objects.

    GindhART at Madjax 68 ART PARTY!: “See The Good” is the theme as Debra turns 68 in September. She has a long standing ART-BIRTHDAY celebratory ritual with Downtown Muncie's First Thursday event. First Thursday at Madjax Muncie is an opportunity to meet the artist. See her text on collection of art featuring aerosols, acrylics, and assemblage art.

    Charles Knox
    I work mainly in pencils and ink, and show my art in various judies shows throughout the state. I have been concentrating on extinct bird species done in pencil, at or about life-sized.

    Tiny Shiners is my personal creation. I've worked for four years to build the brand. I have years of creative experience that I have molded into this small company. Everything created by me is original and made with the intention of being passed down from family member to family member.

    Jill Palumbo is a multimedia artist from Muncie, Indiana. Jill works with paint, clay and glass along with recycled items to make jewelry, furniture, and artwork. Her creations reflect her belief in kindness toward people and the enjoyment of nature.

    Join the Muncie Arts and Culture Council (munciearts.org) and the PlySpace Residency Program (plyspace.org) for a Projection Scavenger Hunt in Downtown Muncie on First Thursday, September 3rd. In preparation for That One Film Festival, on September 11th and 12th, PlySpace hosted filmmaker Karissa Hahn, the first virtual resident and That One Film Festival juror, for a workshop on film printing on a home-office printer. The work created during this two part workshop will be projected at multiple exterior locations in Downtown Muncie between 8:00 PM and 10:00 PM on First Thursday, September 3rd. Viewers can follow the online scavenger hunt map (at www.plyspace.org/projectionhunt) to try to find all of the films! The scavenger hunt is self guided walking tour. You can start the hunt at PlySpace (608 E. Main Street). Learn more about the project at www.plyspace.org or That One Film Festival at thatonefilmfestival.com.   • "Opt Outside" Hike & Scavenger Hunt 1pm to 4pm @ Dutro-Ernst Woods 1701 S Perdieu Rd. Muncie, IN 47302

    #OptOutside is a nationwide movement to venture outdoors instead of spending the day shopping on Black Friday. After the joys of Thanksgiving when you connect with family and friends, why not take some time to connect with nature?

    Join your friends at Red-tail Land Conservancy on Friday, November 25 anytime between 1-4pm at Dutro-Ernst Woods for an afternoon of unguided wandering, wondering, and discovery.

    At this urban nature preserve, you will hear wildlife like cardinals and swallows, see unusual and intriguing mushrooms, and enjoy the quiet stillness of a natural landscape settling down for winter. The many oak trees which make up the forest will be ablaze with color!

    Red-tail’s volunteer naturalists will be along the trail to share facts about the wildlife you can see in the nature preserve. You’ll get a stamp for each naturalist you visit. See them all and earn a free nature journal!

    This event is free and open to all. No registration is necessary, just show up at your leisure and prepare to be amazed!
