Since 2001, Open Space: Art About the Land has encouraged artists from across the state to draw inspiration from the land that surrounds us. From painters to sculptors and beyond, the exhibition presents a diverse showcase of creative talent that celebrates the beauty achieved when nature inspires art. Sachi Yanari-Rizzo, curator of prints and drawings at the Fort Wayne Museum of Art, will be this year’s exhibition juror. Once again, tandem exhibitions will be presented by Minnetrista and the Red-tail Land Conservancy’s mission to protect wild lands in East Central Indiana.

The Nutcracker is the classic holiday tale as you’ve never seen it before—a dreamy collision of magic, mystery, and imagination. Clara’s beloved toy transforms into a valiant prince, whisking her from a war-torn living room to realms filled with snow, sweets, and surreal wonders. Each step of her journey blurs the line between fantasy and reality, revealing the strange beauty hidden beneath tradition. With Tchaikovsky’s unforgettable score guiding the way, this reimagined Nutcracker becomes a wild, whimsical ride through the heart of childhood dreams.

The Ball State Symphony Orchestra, conducted by Gregory Robbins, will play the score live.

Holiday offerings from diverse traditions, and creative use of Sursa Performance Hall make this event an annual touchstone for a festive season. Five choirs combine to surround the audience in a feast for the eyes, the ears, and the heart.

This is the first of two concerts. The second concert will take place at 6 p.m. on the same day (Sunday, December 7) in Sursa Hall.

Join us at Kat’s Crystals for a Yule Ornament Crafting Workshop ! The workshop will cost $25 per person and will include a brief instruction on a few ornament designs + materials to create 3 of your own ornaments to take home ! Attendees may create additional ornaments to take home for an additional $5 per ornament . Muncie Civic Theatre presents ALL OUT FOR CHRISTMAS in the Casazza Family Studio Theatre December 5-21. A play with music by written by local playwright David Taylor Little with music by Jim Rhinehart. A Broadway star returns to her hometown in Indiana to help save the local radio station by acting in their annual Christmas broadcast. Will her appearance save the radio station from financial ruin or will diva antics derail the entire broadcast.

Friday, and Saturday shows are at 7:00pm and the Sunday Matinees are at 3:00pm. General Admission. Rated G.
