Cornerstone Center for the Arts is excited to celebrate another year of family friendly Halloween! Cornerstone will host its Community Halloween Party on Thursday, October 27 from 4:00PM to 6:00PM.

Come join Cornerstone Center for the Arts for this free event to start off the holiday season presented by Alpha Chapter of Psi Iota Xi! On Saturday, November 19th from 10 am-12 pm, children and adults alike will enjoy various activities on the 2nd floor of the Cornerstone Center for the Arts building.

Cornerstone will have crafts for the children to make, entertainment provided, and best of all, children can walk through Candy Cane Lane to get their picture taken with Santa and receive a gift.

Kathryn Major, Elise Rorick, and Claire Sample, seniors at Ball State University will be showing their photography projects at the Cornerstone Art Gallery from April 5^th-30^th.

The photographs and mixed media will explore a variety of topics: crime, innocence, depression, abstraction, underwater, various alternative photography techniques, and Greek mythology. These works will be displayed for a month with the opening on April 5^th, from 5pm-8pm.

This event is free and open to the public. Light refreshments will be served.

Cornerstone Center for the Arts is pleased to announce the 26th Annual A Taste of Muncie, on Sunday, April 15th, 2012 from 4-6pm.

A Taste of Muncie is sponsored by Indiana Michigan Power and WLBC, FoxSports, MAX, WERK Radios, and will feature food from several area restaurants including Vera Mae's Bistro, Delaware Country Club, Ivy Tech Community College Culinary Department, Cardinal Cupcakes & Coneys, White River Valley Pizza Hut, Mr. Mouse, Sister, Sister Catering, Del's Custom Catering, Chef Boy's Sandwhich Factory, Scotty's Brewhouse, Carino's Italian, and more to come!

Advance tickets are $20.00, $18.00 for groups of ten or more, and $15.00 for students with ID. Tickets purchased the day of the event will be $25.00 for adults and $15.00 for students with ID.

Cornerstone Center for the Arts will host a stand-up comedy event on Friday, June 8^th at 8 pm. This fundraiser will be headlined by Mikey Mason, a Muncie native who has toured the nation doing stand-up comedy, and hosted by Jay Baker, a member of Muncie’s comedy scene.

Mason is known for his hilarious musical comedy. He's made multiple appearances both on NBC's Night Shift with Kevin Ferguson and at the House of Blues concert halls, has been featured on Nerdist.com, the SyFy channel's Blastr.com, and MTV's Geek News.

Tickets for the comedy show are $5 in advance, and $7 at the door. Purchase tickets at The Fickle Peach and Savage’s Ale house or online at www.cornerstonearts.org.

This show contains hilarious and mature content and is for ages 18 years and older. A cash bar will be provided.

An opening reception and art show featuring the art of Amanda Craw and Rateira Dodds-Simmons. Their combined show will feature works of acrylic on canvas: urban and rustic landscapes, nature scenes, animals, silhouettes, fantasy, and realism for myriad tastes. .

The opening reception will take place from 5:00 to 7:00 pm at the Cornerstone Art Gallery on the second floor of Cornerstone Center for the Arts. The show will be on display throughout the month of September.

Amanda Craw, a self-proclaimed “go-getter” is an English teacher at Delta High School who recently discovered her love of painting. Craw enjoys using painting as a means of relaxing and reliving experiences and sights. When she’s not painting Craw enjoys traveling, writing, listening to music, spending time with her cat Carlisle, and meeting new people.

Rateira Dodds-Simmons is a mother of two boys who works as a Certified Medical Technologist. Dodds-Simmons finds painting to be therapeutic and relaxing and enjoys expressing emotions by creating art. Dodds-Simmons prefers to live life to the fullest by painting, traveling, skydiving, and riding motorcycles.

The Ball State University Institute for Digital Intermedia Arts Lab will showcase live, electronic dance music and hooping on the 3rd floor.
