"One World, One Sky" is a brilliant program that follows Sesame Street's Big Bird and Elmo as they explore the night sky with Hu Hu Zhu, a new friend from China. Together, they take an imaginary trip from Sesame Street to the Moon, where they discover how different it is from Earth. They will also find shapes in the sky that will help them find the North Star. This cross-cultural adventure opens children's eyes to the sky, helping them see how people all over the world are connected.

A total solar eclipse is such a spectacular event, it is never too early to start planning for one. This show also uses beautiful visuals to explore the historical and cultural view of eclipses, and explains how to safely see these awe-inspiring sights.

Create Your Own Musical Instrument: Light Controlled Sound Synthesizer

Cost: $15 due at registration Ages: 16 and up Participants will build a simple electronic circuit that creates a musical tone with a pitch that can be changed using a light sensor. The instrument will be mounted in a keepsake box along with a mint-tin speaker. There will be an explanation of how the circuit works and suggestions for future development of the instrument.

Flight And The Design Process

This hands-on and interactive workshop is specially curated for aspiring aviation enthusiasts, creative minds, and budding engineers who want to explore the fascinating world of flight and the art of design.
Participants will learn about the physics of flight and practice engineering design skills by testing a variety of materials and prototypes to create your perfect flyer for our friendly competition.
This workshop is led by Educator in Residence Pat McCrory, a PLTW teacher at Longfellow Elementary, in partnership with the Academy for Model Aeronautics.Event Details:

This workshop is recommended for youth and families. Youth aged 13 or older may attend on their own. Youth younger than 13 may attend with a registered adult.
All of our workshops and classes are led by professional makers, artists, entrepreneurs, educators and community partners. We strive to provide high-quality and unique learning experiences. Registration will close up to 72 hours prior to the start of the event to provide time for instructors to prepare.
