Mark your calendars.  The MAP II Spring Public Forum will be held at the following locations and times:

May 4, 2011, 5:30 – 7 p.m., Minnetrista, 1200 North Minnetrista Parkway, Muncie, IN 47303

May 5, 2011, 5:30 – 7 p.m., Ross Community Center, 1110 West 10th Street, Muncie, IN 47302

May 9, 2011, 5:30 – 7 p.m., Buley Center, 1111 North Penn Street, Muncie, IN 47303

During the meeting we will update you on the Task Force initiatives and other community projects.  Please feel free to contact me if you have any questions.

ArtsWORK Indiana is an informal network of artists or those involved in the arts such as teachers, professionals and others. The group was created to help people with disabilities have a career in the arts and is open to artists of all abilities. ArtsWORK of ECI would like to provide workshops, vendor opportunities and collaboration among artists of all disciplines. Membership is free. Information

Balance is vital in a fight. Whether on your feet or on the ground, having a solid base is essential. A solid base provides stability and a platform for movement and generation of power for our techniques. Whether we’re striking, locking, choking, throwing, or disarming, we need a solid base.

The opponent needs base too. If we’re able to steal our opponent’s base then we weaken his stability, mobility, and power generation. We disrupt his ability to attack us and his ability to protect himself from our attacks. Keep your opponent off balance or in a constant state of flux, and you have the upper hand.
