Old West End Neighborhood Association will collaborate with Muncie Friends Church to offer a free, family-oriented arts festival from 10 to 3 on the church grounds and Cherry Street on Saturday, Aug. 24. There will be a city-wide art exhibit, a chalk-walk art competition, "It Takes a Child to Build a Village" cardboard box construction project for kids, community mural creation, a presentation on artist Bob Ross by Jim Needham, painting classes with Denise King and Sheila Piazza, music by "Married Folk," and other presentations and performances TBA. Quaker Women will serve lunch in the dining room in the basement of the meeting house. We are hoping for a community drum circle, too.

Fam Fest is 2 events, 1 great day! Join us for the Ducky Derby followed by the Health and Fun Fair at Meridian's Suzanne Gresham campus.
Meridian's Ducky Derby features over 20 corporate sponsors racing giant inflatable duck rafts down the White River! the race starts at 10:00am just west of the Tillotson Avenue Bridge on White River.
After the duck race, "duck pluck" raffle winners are “plucked” from a large pool for over top prizes! You could win great raffle prizes including a 3-day Bahamas cruise, family meals for a month from Once Upon a Plate, or a new set of tires from Midas!
At FamFest's Health and Fun Fair (located across the street from the Ducky Derby) at the Suzanne Gresham Center, we’ll have a Health Hub set up for all your wellness needs. The area's best health and safety exhibitors are conveniently arranged so that you can get the information quickly and efficiently. Complete all available health screenings and YOU could WIN a special prize including autographed Indianapolis Colts items!
New this year – SAFETY TOWN! This miniature version of Muncie will focus on teaching kids how to be a safe citizen. Kids will cruise through the Safety Town on Greg Hubler Ford tricycles while learning about traffic safety, internet safety, financial wellness, and being safe from drugs.
