Bring your little ones to Storytime Saturday! Join one of our experience guides for a cozy storytime perfect for children 5 and under and their families. Each month, we’ll feature a special seasonal story that celebrates the time of year. 

Betty’s Cabin Activities are presented in partnership with Patterson Block Muncie.

Come enjoy this lively joint concert by two of the AHB (America’s Hometown Band)
woodwind ensemble groups - Central Indiana Flute Choir (Director, Becky Boyce) and Clarinet Connection (Director, Steve Stickler).

    Free admission & parking.The public is invited to hear these very talented musicians perform a concert music lineup that ‘travels’ the world & beyond from ‘Ashokan Farewell’,  ‘Fiddler on the Roof’, and ‘Saint Louis Blues’ — to ‘Star Wars’ themes and ‘Jupiter’ (from Gustav Holtz’ - ‘The Planets’)   

About

The Wind Ensemble is under the direction of Thomas Caneva, director of bands. Thomas Caneva has held the position of Director of Bands and Professor of Music at Ball State University since 2006. At Ball State, Dr. Caneva’s responsibilities include conducting the Wind Ensemble, coordinating the graduate wind conducting program, teaching undergraduate conducting and administering the entire band program. He served as the Coordinator of Ensembles and Conducting from 2007-2024. This concert will be a celebration of his career as he plans to retire at the end of the semester.

The Wind Ensemble will be accompanied by Mihoko Watanabe (flute), Elisha Willinger (clarinet), Anna Vayman (violin), Peter Opie (cello), and guest artists.

Program

Program to include pieces by Paul Dooley, Steven Bryant, Gala Flagello, Percy Aldridge Grainger, and Gustav Holst. Several faculty members and colleagues will also make remarks during the concert.

Parking

Parking is available in the McKinley Parking Garage (entrance on Ashland Avenue) located immediately south of Sursa Hall. Metered parking ($1/hr) is available on the first floor of the garage until 7 p.m. at which time parking is free.

Easter Egg Hunt

Hop on over to the Muncie Children’s Museum for an Easter Egg Hunt on Saturday, April 12th from 6-8pm! Join us for an evening of fun-filled activities including an indoor egg hunt, a chance to meet the Easter Bunny, crafts, snacks and prizes. Child admission is $10 each for members, $15 each for non-members, and $5 each for for Access for All. Accompanying adults are free. Registration is required and space is limited. A modern twist on the ancient Cassandra story, we follow cheerleader and high school senior Cassie as she attempts to thwart a tragic fate. Prom is approaching, which Cassie is dreading because of a dark and deadly premonition. Is it possible to convince her friends she's not nuts and avoid the inevitable.

This production is done in partnership with Muncie Civic Theatre.

Blood Wedding explores the inevitability of fate and the passionate forces that drive human actions. In a series of poetic and haunting scenes, this story captures the profound and often tragic emotions of love, betrayal, and destiny.
