Light Up DWNTWN powered by AEP will be held on December 3rd, from 5-8pm throughout Downtown Muncie.  Galleries, restaurants and retailers invite you to spend the evening with them as we kick off the holiday shopping season. The Community Tree Lighting ceremony will take place at Canan Commons (located in the 500 block of S. Walnut St.) @ 5:30pm. Join us as Santa “Light’s UP DWNTNWN!  

Canan Commons will also be the location for the inaugural “Holiday YART”, featuring nearly 50 artist, in a heated tent. A temporary ice skating rink will be installed by A1 for Fun, offering 15 minutes of skating for $2 from 3pm-9pm. The interactive public sculpture, SOFT MATTER, which made its debut at this year’s ArtsWalk, will be on display and ready for action and photos.  Ice carving demonstrations, Kiddie Express train, fire pits and concessions will also be available. Brian Blair’s holiday sculptures will be on display at the park throughout the holiday season.
