- First Thursday Gallery Walk - Total Solar Eclipse Edition - John Morris, Out of This World 5:00pm to 8:00pm @ Gordy Fine Art & Framing Company 224 East Main Street
Gordy Fine Art & Framing Company is proud to highlight the art of graphic artist John Morris during the First Thursday Gallery Walk - TOTAL SOLAR ECLIPSE Edition. The artist will be on hand. Light refreshments will be served, and the public is invited to attend. At 6:15, John will speak about his work and his process.
John Morrisâs art builds a conversation between the digital world and the actual world. His works are built in stages by first designing digital collages from comic book images and then meticulously recreating them as real collages with physical clippings. When that is complete, he then translates the composition into its final iteration using Perler Beads. This process mimics the action of flattening a digital file and highlights the value Morris places on manual labor in the digital age through the labor-intensive use of beads,
The exhibit will remain on view through April 27.
