Dr. Scott Shields, associate director and curator of the Crocker Art Museum in Sacremento, will explore the artist's life and Richard Diebenkorn: Beginnings, 1942-1955, the spring Special Exhibition at DOMA. A reception begins at 5pm followed by the lecture at 6pm. Guests will have the opportunity for a special viewing of the exhibition. This event is made possible by the support of the Edmund F. Petty Memorial Fund. Event is free and open to the public.

Cost: $50 per person Art in Bloom is an annual event and exhibition celebrating the David Owsley Museum of Art (DOMA) through innovative floral interpretations created by the region’s top floral designers. The Friday opening reception is a fundraiser supporting the museum’s programs and acquisitions, and the free, public exhibition is displayed throughout the weekend.
Art in Bloom 2018 begins with a fundraiser event at 5 p.m. May 18; tickets are $50 per person and include cocktails, hors d'oeuvres, entertainment, and the first look at the designers' artistic interpretations. The floral arrangements will remain on view for the public May 19 and 20 during normal open hours with free admission. Visit bsu.edu/DOMA for more information.DOMA thanks our presenting sponsor Sursa Griner Wealth Management for their generous and steadfast support. Join Erin Monroe, the Robert H. Schutz, Jr., Associate Curator of American Paintings and Sculpture at the Wadsworth Atheneum Museum of Art, for a richly illustrated talk about the artist Edward Gorey and DOMA's special exhibition, "Gorey's Worlds."
A 5 p.m. reception precedes the 6 p.m. talk, and the exhibition will remain open until 8 p.m. for those who wish to enjoy an informed viewing following the lecture.

On Valentine's Day, Joel and Becca Braun, bass player and mezzo-soprano, with pianist Galit Gertsenzon-Fromm, will perform love songs inspired by Impressions of Love: J. Ottis and Winifred Brady Adams, a Ball State University Centennial Exhibition in DOMA's Sculpture Court.
A welcome reception sponsored in part by the Ball State University School of Music will begin at 5:00 p.m., and the concert will begin at 6:00 p.m. A special opportunity to view the exhibition will follow the concert.

Join student teachers from the Ball State Art Education program for an afternoon of games, activities, and tours in the DOMA galleries - plus (weather permitting) creating sunprints on the Quad as a pre-solar eclipse activity!
