  • Cornerstone Dance Company Auditions 4:30pm to 7pm @ Cornerstone Center for the Arts 520 E. Main St. Muncie

    The Cornerstone Center for the Arts Dance Company is holding open auditions for the Competition and Performance groups on Thursday, August 26th.

    If you enjoy dancing and would like to get more involved in either the competitive or performance side of dance, consider joining the Cornerstone Dance Company. There will be a Competition group and a Performance group with ages ranging from 5-21 years old.

    The auditions are free and op...en to the public.

    Competition Group:
    Dancers in the competition group will compete in various competitions and perform at local events. This group will focus on technique development and competitive dance routines. Competition and costume fees will be included in the monthly class fees. The competition group will be divided into two groups based on age and will meet from September through May.

    Early Company (Ages 5-8)
    Tap, Jazz, Hip Hop, & Ballet Training
    9 monthly payments of $95
    Fee includes tuition, all costumes, and all competition fees for two dances at three competitions in the Indianapolis regional competitions during the months of March through May.

    Youth Company (Ages 9-18)
    Tap, Jazz, Hip Hop, Ballet, Contemporary, Floor Barre, & Progressions Training
    9 monthly payments of $180
    Fee includes tuition, all three costumes, and all competition fees for three dances at three competitions in the Indianapolis regional competitions.

    Performance Group:
    The performance group will perform for various community events including festivals, fairs, and more. This group will focus on technique development and performance choreography without a competitive focus. All fees are included in the monthly class fee so no additional fees will be added throughout the year unless a student chooses to participate in a private session such as a solo, duet, or trio. The Performance Group is also separated into two groups.

    Early Company (Ages 5-8)
    Tap, Jazz, Hip Hop, & Ballet Training
    9 monthly payments of $50

    Youth & Young Adult Company (Ages 9-21)
    Tap, Jazz, Hip Hop, Ballet, Contemporary, Floor Barre, & Progressions Training

    Youth Company Auditions are 6 - 7:30 for both groups

  • 17&4 Exhibition opening 6pm to 9pm @ Cornerstone Center for the Arts 520 E. Main St. Muncie

    Jessie Sieb, Jennifer Hall, Karla Hughes, and Ashley Vorndan, Ball State University Fine Art students, will have their artwork on display in the Cornerstone Art Gallery from September 2nd to September 30th. The show is titled 17&4 and will feature individual photography series from each artist.

    Certain photography pieces will be for sale.

    The art show will have a gallery opening on Thursday, September 2nd from 6-8pm. The gallery... is free and open to the public and will remain open from September 2nd to September 30th during normal business hours. The art gallery will be located on the second floor of Cornerstone Center for the Arts.

    The gallery will continue to exhibit and promote the artwork of Cornerstone students and instructors, local high school and college students, as well as local and regional artists.

  • The Mother of All Shows 5 Benefit Concert 11am to 12:42pm @ Cornerstone Center for the Arts 520 E Main, Muncie, IN 47305
    Cost: $6.00

    Cornerstone Center for the Arts and New Noise Entertainment and have partnered together to support local music by presenting the “The Mother of All Shows 5,” on Saturday, January 22nd. Enjoy a full day of live entertainment as fifteen area bands are set to perform, with doors opening at 10 am and the first band performing at 11:15 am. See the schedule below for full details.

    Food, drinks, and snacks will be available for purchase throughout the day, as well as merchandise from the bands. Door prizes will be given away, which include free musical instrument or voice lessons, class gift certificates for visual arts, dance, theatre, martial arts, and workshops, and free passes to future shows and films. Don’t miss out on the opportunity to meet and greet with Muncie’s roller derby team, the Cornfed Derby Dame! Also there will be stand-up comedy in between performances throughout the day.

    Tickets are only $6 and can be purchased online by clicking here. Tickets can also be purchased at Cornerstone Center for the Arts, Dan’s Downtown Records, Muncie Music Center, Village Green Records, or over the phone by calling 765.281.9503, ext 15. Tickets can also be purchased at the door. Proceeds from the day will support Cornerstone’s art programming, as well as local area bands.
