Join us on Sunday, December 8th from 1-4:30pm, for Sundaes with Santa, hosted by the Muncie Children's Museum Guild! Admission includes an ice cream sundae & drink, a photo with Santa, face painting, reindeer food, Christmas activities and craft, a ticket to the Amazing Elf Adventure (to be used during the event) and much more. Early registration is recommended. The museum will not be open for general admission on December 8th.

About Guest Artist Trevor Mowry
Trevor is an oboist based in the Washington, DC area who has been lauded for his âlovely and plaintiveâ playing (Charleston Gazette). He has played co-principal oboe in âThe Presidentâs Ownâ United States Marine Band since his appointment at age 22 in 2012. In that capacity he has performed in hundreds of band, orchestra, and chamber music concerts in 44 US states, and regularly performs for state functions at the White House. He has appeared as a guest musician with the National Symphony Orchestra, the Kennedy Center Opera House Orchestra, Houston Grand Opera, the Richmond Symphony Orchestra, and the New World Symphony. He can frequently be heard in performance throughout the DC area as principal oboe of the Alexandria Symphony, and as guest principal oboe with the Fairfax Symphony, Annapolis Symphony, Maryland Lyric Opera, the National Philharmonic, Post Classical Ensemble, Cathedral Choral Society, and other esteemed local arts organizations. A passionate educator, Trevor has been featured in master classes at over thirty universities and conservatories across the United States. He is the winds coach for the American Youth Philharmonic Orchestra program, where he helps hone the ensemble-playing skills of outstanding young woodwind players as they prepare to enter top collegiate music programs. He received a Performerâs Certificate and a Bachelorâs Degree in Oboe Performance from the Eastman School of Music, and pursued graduate studies at Rice Universityâs Shepherd School of Music until his appointment to âThe Presidentâs Own.â (This bio is presented in an unofficial capacity and neither âThe Presidentâs Ownâ United States Marine Band, the U.S. Marine Corps nor any other component of the Department of Defense or the U.S. Government has endorsed it.)
Event Highlights
This yearâs Oboe Marathon, hosted by Dr. Lisa Kozenko and the Ball State Oboe Studio, promises a fun and engaging day for oboists of all levels. Itâs a perfect chance to meet new oboe friends, connect with fellow musicians, and gain valuable insights into performance techniques, ensemble playing, and professional development. This yearâs event will include two masterclasses with Trevor, as well as reed making workshop with Trevor, Dr. Kozenko and the Ball State Oboe Studio. New This Year! Weâre excited to offer our first-ever English Horn Workshop, where youâll learn the fundamentals of English Horn playing. Donât miss out on this exclusive sessionâplease bring your English Horn (if you have one - it's not necessary) and an English Horn reed if youâd like to participate! Please register now!

- Play Your ISSMA Solo: Participants have the option to perform their ISSMA solo for feedback.
- Prepare a Piece: Attendees are encouraged to bring a prepared piece for the event.
- Bring Your Oboe! This is a hands-on event, so all participants should bring their oboe.
Free and Open to the Public! Join us for one session or stay the whole dayâyouâre guaranteed to learn something new and leave inspired.

Parking is available in the McKinley Parking Garage (entrance on Ashland Avenue) located immediately south of Sursa Hall. On weekdays, metered parking ($1/hr) is available on the first floor of the garage until 7 p.m. at which time parking is free. This garage is free on weekends.

Five choirs combine to surround the audience in a feast for the eyes, the ears, and the heart. This yearâs performance features the lively and iconic âGloriaâ by Antonio Vivaldi with Chamber Choir and orchestra, along with other familiar favorites.

Cost: Free, Donations welcome Save the Date! Muncie's America's Hometown Jazz Combo presents a holiday Jazz concert to benefit the Soup Kitchen of Muncie. Admission is free donations are welcome. Join saxophonist George Wolfe and his fellow musicians for a family friendly show that includes sing-along carols and other seaonal favorites as well as a Hanukkah song played in the Kelzmer style. Start you holiday season off with this entertaining concert! America's Hometown jazz combo appears courtesy of America's Hometown Band.

Ages: 16+ Rhythm Jamz is a unique musical yoga experience debuting at Zokawa: The Center of Happiness. This vibrant event will combine the rhythmic flow of vinyasa yoga with a live musical set performed by professional, local musicians. Musicians will play a semi-structured open-style set to guide participants through the instructor-led vinyasa flow throughout the 90 minute session. Meridian Health Services and presenting sponsor, American Electric Power Foundation, are pleased to invite the community to Holidays at Gresham, a FREE drive-thru light exhibit with over one million lights on display!
These holiday spirit-filled weekends are Meridianâs gift to the community. Beginning the first weekend in December, the Suzanne Gresham Center â located at 3620 W. White River Boulevard, Muncie â will host as many cars full of families as it can allow from 6â9 pm each Friday through Sunday.
Holidays at Gresham is Meridian Health Servicesâ annual holiday fundraising event. While donations are not required, they are greatly appreciated and critical in supporting our Children Services programs. Donors at our Giving Tuesday FIRST LOOK on December 3rd, will receive a special gift, while supplies last. Additionally, those who donate the first three weekends in December will be entered to win a $100 gift card each weekend.
