Cornerstone Center for the Arts, in partnership with PrimeTrust Federal Credit Union, will host the Young Artist Exhibition on Thursday, March 14 for school-age children in Delaware County. The show will feature the artwork of students in kindergarten through twelfth grades who reside in or attend school in Delaware County. The public reception on March 14 from 5:30 to 8 p.m. will take place in the Colonnade Room at Cornerstone Center for the Arts with awards being announced at 6:30 p.m. This event is free and open to the public.

This is the third year for the show which will feature both 2D and 3D artwork submitted by hundreds of local students. Entries will be placed into six categories: kindergarten-second, third-fifth, sixth-eighth 2D, sixth-eighth 3D, ninth-twelfth 2D, and ninth-twelfth 3D. Submissions will be accepted at Cornerstone Center for the Arts’ second floor information desk from Wednesday, February 27 through Friday, March 8. Teachers may submit up to 10 pieces of work or students may submit up to three of their own pieces with assistance from a parent or guardian. Prize packages, including cash awards, will be awarded for first, second, third, and honorable mentions in each category. A panel of community judges will select winners prior to the public reception.

Winning artwork will be on display at Cornerstone Center for the Arts during the month of April. The opening reception for the winners showcase will be held on Thursday, April 4 in which all winners are invited to attend and share their work with the public. Additionally, winning artwork may be displayed at PrimeTrust Federal Credit Union’s three locations.
