Muncie Artist’s Guild
Various locations
The Muncie Artist Guild’s “Artist of the Month” for August is Shonet Martin.

Shonet Martin's bio: I am a Ball State graduate with a B.S. in Art Education and MA in Art. I have taught in public school, but my passion was working with VSA Arts, an arts organization for children and adults with disabilities.

I LOVE color. My work is a collage of shapes and patterns that create an image. I begin by tearing tissue paper for the main images. The colors I lean to tend to play off of each other. Once the main images are laid down, I embellish with small geometric shapes in patterns of color. If my subject matter is a person the face is always left void of features. This is so the viewer can bring their own emotion to the work.

Shonet’s artwork will be on display during the month of June at the following locations:
Northwest Bank, 110 E Charles St. Muncie, IN 47305
Old National Bank, 2401 S Madison St. Muncie, IN 47302
