Christine Bush: Creativity and surrounding myself with pleasing aesthetics is natural to me since Inheriting my mother‘s creative gene. My first sewing project at age 8 was making Barbie clothes and I haven’t stopped! All forms of needlework, home decor, design and jewelry construction have always been an integral part of my existence. I retired from a career as a graphic designer in 2016 and have fun now being as “creative” as I want. I recently opened an Etsy store called hebilements (which I am working on filling) and sell at Muncie’s 2 annual “Art Walks” and at the Minnetrista Christmas Market.

Debra Gindhart Dragoo: Local artist in residence, educator, community arts programs development, and arts advocate for makers and artists. I am featuring “Aerosol and Old Lace” series 4, paintings wall art. Green Glam Studio jewelry earrings and pendants. Fun silver and colorful boho wearable art jewelry. Meet the artists. 5-8pm.

Parking is available in our lot at the corner of Jackson and Monroe, and at the corner of Main and Monroe.

Various locations
We are happy to share that Sheila Piazza is our MAG artist of the month for July.  Her work will be displaying at Northwest Bank, Old National Bank, Parlour Salon, Rosebud Coffee House and Vera Mae's Bistro.

Sheila finds inspiration in the mundane and the everyday with its opportunity to pause and reflect. This could be the distorted world inside a reflection, the mad swirl in moving water, or the play of shapes hidden in shadows.  Primarily a still life artist, she works in colored pencil and oil paint. Recently, taking on the challenge of landscape, she discovered the color green to be quite confrontational.

Teaching art has been a big part of her life. Students have ranged from preschool to adult, with middle school being a favorite.  Awards included Indiana Middle School Art Teacher of the Year, Delaware Community Schools Teacher of the Year, Indiana Youth Institute Fellowship, National Marie Walsh Sharp Teacher/Artist Fellowship, Indiana Youth Institute Associate, and numerous local, state, and national grants.

Her work has been shown in the Indiana State Museum, Cynergy three state Traveling Exhibit, Anderson Museum of Art, Minnetrista, Blackford County Art Center, Portland Art Center, Indiana State Fair Professional Division, NAEA Electronic Art Gallery, Hancock County Art Association, and ArtWorks Gallery.
