Brian Stelter is the chief media correspondent for CNN Worldwide and anchor of "Reliable Sources," which is a media critique program that airs at 11 a.m. ET every Sunday on CNN. He also publishes a daily e-newsletter that examines that day’s media events.

The title of his speech is "Reporting Truthfully in the 'Fake News' Era."

Prior to joining CNN, Stelter was a media reporter at The New York Times and was named to Forbes Magazine's "30 Under 30: Media" for three consecutive years. He also worked at The New York Times for three of his four years in college after he sold “TVNewser,” a blog covering the TV news industry that he created his freshman year in college, to Mediabistro.com.

Stelter graduated with a bachelor's degree in mass communications with a concentration in journalism from Towson University in Baltimore in 2007.

The event is sponsored by Ball State's Department of Journalism, which is celebrating its 50th anniversary in connection with the university's 100th anniversary.
