Told through the childhood memories of Michael, five single sisters in 1930's Ireland find themselves questioning the lives they have led. Times are changing for these simple women, as pagan rituals rival the constraints of the Catholic Church and their hometown industrializes with teh arrival of a factory. Will life continue as before?
