‘Inspired by Orchids’.
A wonderful art exhibit ‘Inspired by Orchids’. Artists include local Ball State University School of Art students who utilized the greenhouse during designated class times, as well as various community artists who enjoyed the greenhouse throughout the year and during our recent Community Artists Day, ‘en plein air’.
Held at the Dr. Joe and Alice Rinard Orchid Greenhouse, located in Christy Woods on the Ball State University campus. The new facility houses the largest collegiate collection of orchids in the USA, with 2000 orchids. There is always something in bloom throughout the year.
Hours M-F 10:00 a.m.-4:30 p.m. and Saturdays 10:00 a.m.-3:00 p.m.

- 3nd Annual Murpah Shrine Club Community Chili Cook-Off 1pm to 4pm @ Murpah Shrine Club 3671 Shriner Dr. Muncie, IN 47303
Cost: $5 to enter. $25 to compete. Chili competition is limited to 15 teams ($25 entry fee per team). View rules and regulations here: https://goo.gl/1CNMFJ
Doors open for entrants to set up and decorate their booths at 11:00 a.m. The chili competition begins at 1:00 and voting will go until 3:00 p.m. Winners will be announced at 3:30 p.m.
Chili Champion will receive a trophy and a $100 cash prize. "People's Choice" winner will receive a $50 cash prize and a plaque. “Best Decorated Booth” winner will receive a $25 cash prize and a plaque.
Open to the public! Attendees will pay $5 to sample chili and vote for winners. Additional "People's Choice" vote tickets will be available 5/$5.

The New Horizons flyby was big news, and the pictures it sent back to Earth reveal a world far more complex than anyone realized. Follow Mike Brown and his team at CalTech as they uncover dwarf worlds whose orbits take them deep into the far reaches of the Solar System. Is there a new planet beyond these distant objects? Join us on the hunt!
