‘Inspired by Orchids’.
A wonderful art exhibit ‘Inspired by Orchids’. Artists include local Ball State University School of Art students who utilized the greenhouse during designated class times, as well as various community artists who enjoyed the greenhouse throughout the year and during our recent Community Artists Day, ‘en plein air’.
Held at the Dr. Joe and Alice Rinard Orchid Greenhouse, located in Christy Woods on the Ball State University campus. The new facility houses the largest collegiate collection of orchids in the USA, with 2000 orchids. There is always something in bloom throughout the year.
Hours M-F 10:00 a.m.-4:30 p.m. and Saturdays 10:00 a.m.-3:00 p.m.

Join Big Brothers Big Sisters of Delaware County (BBBS) on Nov. 11 for a Speakeasy-themed night will be full of music, food, and local art! The evening fundraiser is 21 and up and will begin at 6:30 p.m. General tickets are $30 per person and $35 per person for VIP tickets (these include two drink tickets).
Sea Salt and Cinnamon, Guardian Brewery and VKA Catering are providing the food for the evening. During dinner, artists and artisans will display works in progress and discuss their practices. Donated art from local artists and artisans will be auctioned for attendees to purchase.
The proceeds will support Big Brothers Big Sisters of Delaware County’s core programming, matching local youth with a caring adult mentor.
Big Brothers Big Sisters wants to thank Sea Salt and Cinnamon, Guardian Brewery, VKA Catering and artists for their donations.

The New Horizons flyby was big news, and the pictures it sent back to Earth reveal a world far more complex than anyone realized. Follow Mike Brown and his team at CalTech as they uncover dwarf worlds whose orbits take them deep into the far reaches of the Solar System. Is there a new planet beyond these distant objects? Join us on the hunt!
