Light refreshments will be served\, and the public is invited to atte nd.\n\nAimee is primarily a printmaker who often works with linoleum block s known as Linocut. \; A linocut is \;a type of relief print with a lot of similarities to woodblock printing in the way it yields heavy lin es with dramatic and expressive results. \; Essentially\, the artist c arves an image into a linoleum block and what's left of the block is inked and printed. \; Sometimes Aimee adds color using gouache which is an opaque watercolor paint. \; Aimee is also a flight paramedic on IU Hea lth LifeLine. Sometimes her images are composed with unusual perspective.& nbsp\; Her work inside flying helicopters exposes her to these different v iewpoints daily and much more than those of us who view the world from gro und level. \;\n\nMichael Prater is well known for his dramatic drawing s where he uses heavy black lines to conjure dark images that are lit from an unusual angle with an artificial light source. In this show they are m ostly self-portraits that reveal an inner struggle. \; Michael is Asso ciate Professor of Art Education at Ball State who has experience as a gra phic artist. She is affected by her surroundings where she lives and works in her home studio on a lake in No rth Anderson. \; The abundant ever-present fodder\, wildlife\, deer\, blue herons\, eagles\, osprey\, waterfowl\, and fish provide a constant so urce of tranquility\, and subject matter\, which is revealed through the e xploration and use of color in multiple layers of \; acrylic paint or enameling\, (which is Glass fired onto metal at 1\,450 degrees.) \; Ot her sources for subject matter come from her dedication to serving others through a food assistance program at Trinity Episcopal church. \; She is energized by sharing her experiences through teaching and displaying he r art.\n\nDiane graduated from Ball State University in 1988. She continue d her graduate work through 1995. She is an art teacher with an emphasis i n painting\, metal design\, and enameling. \; Diane taught art at Dale ville Community Schools and is retired from South Madison School Corporati on in Pendleton Indiana. \; She continues to teach classes in painting and enameling to all ages at Pendleton Artist Society\, Gallery 119 on a regular basis.
