he David Owsley Museum of Art at Sursa Hall (located in the Music Instruct
ion Building on the southeast corner of McKinley and Riverside Avenues) at
6:00 p.m. on March 11 when award-winning artist Nora Krug will discuss he
r acclaimed body of work and DOMA's current exhibition Nora Krug: Belongin
 g.&nbsp\;\n\nKrug's powerful graphic memoir\,&nbsp\;Belonging: A German Re
ckons With History and Home\, and her more recent book publication\, an il
lustrated edition of Yale historian Timothy Snyder’s&nbsp\;On Tyranny: T
wenty Lessons from the Twentieth Century\, are the focus of the solo show
 at DOMA and&nbsp\;organized by the&nbsp\;Norman Rockwell Museum&nbsp\;in S
tockbridge\, MA.&nbsp\;Each book takes inspiration from the artist’s per
sonal experiences as well as the events of history through engagement with
deep topical research\, museum artifacts and flea market finds\, vintage
photography\, oral histories\, and personal conversations\, with the goal
of trying to understand\, reckon with\, and depict the past in order to ta
ke something revelatory and useful away from it.\n\n“Images have politic
al power\, and they can change the way we think. Illustrating is also an a
ct of witnessing: images compel us to notice and investigate\, and at thei
r best\, they shed light on and at the same time critically confront the s
ubjects they engage with.”\n\n—Nora Krug\n\nA book signing and light r
efreshments in the Sursa Hall upper lobby will follow the talk and the Bal
l State bookstore will have books available for purchase.\n\nVisit bsu.edu
