Dan Alten does stand up comedy for a "living". Based out of Louisville, he regularly tours the South and Midwest with his unique brand of intelligently-dumb surreal comedy, playing basements, backyards, bars, theaters, museums, galleries, punk houses, pizza places, street corners, and even comedy clubs. He has worked at Go Bananas in Cincinnati, headlined Star Bar in Atlanta, and was a featured performer on the Birmingham Comedy Festival. He has opened for Kyle Kinane, Sean Patton, rapper Open Mike Eagle, Kurt Braunholer, underground TV icon David Leiber Hart, Stewart Huff, Joe List, punk band Boner City, and Dave Waite.

Dan runs a DIY label called LAFF Fest 2014 that produces shows and records split CDS, they have sold over 600 copies of their first two releases. He also co-holds the Guinness World Record for performing on the Longest Stand-up Comedy Show, and he has a Bachelor's degree in Folklore and Ethnomusicology from Indiana University, and he grows his own tomatoes and cilantro.

He will be in town next Wednesday July 27th to headline Be Here Now at 9:30pm. $3 at the door, 18 and up.
